Owen Cooper Award - The Mississippi Transportation Institute is soliciting
nominations for the Owen Cooper Memorial Award (OCMA), which will be presented at the upcoming MTI Conference. This award
will be presented to a living individual who has strongly supported and promoted the transportation community in Mississippi.
It is only appropriate that this award be named in honor of Mr. Owen Cooper. Through his leadership and commitment, the
Mississippi Legislature enacted the largest public works program in the state's history. Past recipients include John David
Pennebaker (1998), Gil Carmichael (2000), John Tabb (2002), Tommy L. Wallace (2004), and Speaker Billy McCoy (2006). Please help us publicly recognize other
champions of transportation in Mississippi for their service to the citizens of our great state. A nomination form is provided
on this webpage.
