Collins Bypass

This project includes paving the US 84 Collins Bypass. The contractor for the project is Tanner Construction Co. Inc. This project was let on May 22, 2007.

Interstate 59 S-Curve Relocation in Laurel, Jones County

Tanner Construction was awarded this 4000 ft. bridge relocation project at a cost of $27 million. Construction began August of 2006. The contractor has placed drill shaft foundation pilings, constructing bridge piers, set beams, and is presently constructing the bridge deck. Project is scheduled for completion in August of 2009.

SR 63 from Lucedale to Leakesville in George and Greene Counties

Eutaw Construction completed the grading, drainage and bridge construction on this 14.1 mile long stretch of 4 lane highway on new location in December of 2006. This initial phase of construction cost $35 million. A paving contract will be let in 2008 for completion of this project.

SR 67 from I-110 to SR 605 in Harrison

TCB Construction completed the initial grading phase of this 10.5-mile project in August, 2006 for approximately $16 million. Warren Paving of Gulfport and Hattiesburg was awarded the second phase of work at a cost of $37.5 million. Warren Paving has begun the paving operation. Traffic has been detoured onto the newly constructed Highway 67 on both the north and south ends of the project. All work is scheduled to be completed in early 2009.

SR 67 from SR 605 to US 49 in Harrison County

Huey Stockstill Inc. was awarded this 8 mile, 4 lane paving project at a cost of $18.8 million. Placement of intermediate layers of asphalt pavement is underway. The project is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2008.

US 84

Pavement of US 84 from the Lawrence County line to east of Prentiss in Jefferson Davis and Lawrence Counties. The contractor on the project is W.E. Blain & Sons, Inc., and the contract time began May 10, 2007.

US 84 from Waynesboro to the Alabama Line in Wayne County

Tanner Construction was awarded this 10 mile grading, drainage and bridge construction project, 4 lanes on new location, at a total cost of $21.6 million. Contractor is near completion of the unclassified excavation and in the process of placing the last of the drainage structures near the east end of the project. All rock excavation is complete, as well as the bridge work. Borrow excavation will begin this fall. Scheduled completion date is spring of 2008.

US 90 from Lewis Ave to Debuys Road

Superior Asphalt Inc. was awarded this 8 mile reconstruction project at a cost of $26.8 million. Construction is scheduled to begin construction in October with an expected completion date of December of 2008.
