The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) is proposing to improve and/or relocate the existing alignment of SR 44 between Pierce Road and US 198 in Columbia, Mississippi. Traffic studies indicate that there will be sufficient traffic demand to warrant improvements to the highway.
