In order to improve safety and mobility for the traveling public and to prepare for future anticipated needs, MDOT is proposing a project to widen and/or relocate State Route 15 from Laurel to Louin in Jones and Jasper counties. Traffic studies indicate that there will be sufficient traffic demand to warrant improvements to the existing highway. The proposed project will also address traffic needs on SR 18 in Bay Springs and other surrounding routes depending on the constraints provided by the public and required design safety standards.
