In order to improve safety and mobility for the traveling public and to prepare for future anticipated needs, MDOT is proposing a project to reconstruct or relocate the railroad lines in and around Tupelo, Miss. A feasibility study indicates that there will be sufficient traffic demand to warrant improvements to the existing railroad system. The proposed project will extend from the vicinity of Nettleton to the vicinity of Sherman.
