State Route 7 from State Route 9 to State Route 6

Oxford, Mississippi is rapidly developing, both residentially and commercially. Due to residential growth, the increasing number of employment opportunities in Oxford, and the students attending the University of Mississippi, the quantity of vehicle traffic along Hwy 7 is rapidly increasing. In order to meet the current and projected capacity needs along Hwy 7, MDOT is proposing to widen Hwy 7 and reconfigure the existing intersection at Hwy 7 and Hwy 9. The proposed improvements will start at Hwy 9 and end at the existing 4-lane section south of Hwy 6, a distance of approximately 6 miles.

The following links further describe and illustrate the alternatives presented at the December 4, 2007 public hearing.

Once a decision has been made with regard to the final selection of an alternative an update to this website will be posted.
