Highway 67 from Interstate 10 at Interstate 110 to Highway 605
 

Why is this project necessary?

The purpose of this project is to alleviate traffic congestion on nearby routes such as Highways 49 and I-10.

What’s happening?

The project provides for 10.5 miles of construction on Highway 67 from Interstate 10 at Interstate 110 to Highway 605. It will consist of a grade, drain, and bridgework necessary to relocate the highway between Interstate 10 and proposed Highway 605. The project also includes constructing an interchange at Highway 15.

Should motorists expect traffic delays?

The highway is expected to remain open during construction, but motorists may encounter lane closures, signs, flaggers and possibly equipment.

How will the project be funded?

Eighty percent of this project will be funded with federal dollars while MDOT provides the remaining twenty percent.

What company will perform the work?

T.C.B. Construction, Inc., of Poplarville, Miss was awarded the contract at a cost of $12.9 million.

When will the project be completed?

The project began in January 2003 with work expected to be completed by January 2006.
