The Information Systems Division exists to collaboratively plan, deliver and support information technology solutions that
improve the efficiency of MDOT’s operations as well as provide MDOT staff accessible, reliable business information so they
can make informed decisions. Information Systems is also responsible for ensuring that the business goals and initiatives for MDOT have a
strategy that is sound in technology, ultimately becoming a beneficial and operational business process and decision support
facility for MDOT staff.
Our focus is to find new solutions and better service our customers.
The division is comprised of 65 employees whose major activities include:
- Facilitate strategic plans outlining what improvements in information technology must be accomplished to help MDOT better achieve its overall mission;
- Manage the process of purchasing all major requests for computer hardware and software;
- Provide training for basic computer literacy skills as well as training for MDOT specific software for all MDOT employees;
- Support MDOT’s statewide network connecting Jackson offices, district offices and project offices;
- Provide a secure data center that facilitates processing, storage and easy access for MDOT’s enterprise business information;
- Perform programming development and support of MDOT specific software systems; and
- Ensure that all information technology tools and services are rendered in a cost-effective manner.
