The District Engineer is responsible for coordinating, planning, design, construction and maintenance of the intermodal transportation network within sixteen counties. The counties include: Alcorn, Tishomingo, Tippah, Prentiss, Union, Pontotoc, Lee, Itawamba, Chickasaw, Monroe, Clay, Webster, Choctaw, Oktibbeha, Lowndes, and Winston.
