|
The Office of Enforcement, organized into five divisions, regulates many aspects of the operation of commercial vehicles
on the highways of Mississippi. These functions were made part of MDOT in 1992, when the Mississippi Department of Transportation
was officially created. Prior to 1992, many of these functions were the responsibility of the Mississippi State Tax Commission.
The Office of Enforcement works closely with the Public Service Commission, the Department of Public Safety, the State Tax Commission
and various other state and federal agencies to help ensure the safe, efficient and, above all, legal operation of commercial vehicles.
A brief description of each division’s purpose and goals are listed on the division pages reached by using the areas of service list above.
