The Asset Management Division provides necessary services to ensure that all of MDOT’s assets are properly classified, inventoried and
maintained guaranteeing that they are being used to the best advantage of MDOT in accomplishing its mission and goals. The Division is
comprised of two areas which provide the following services:
Fixed Assets – The fixed asset group is responsible for initiating and maintaining accurate records of all MDOT fixed assets, including
acquisition, disposal and active inventory. AMD staff members work closely with all MDOT district and division property custodians and
equipment superintendents, providing direction and support as necessary. AMD ensures accuracy of asset inventory data for submission of
required reports to the Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Office of the State Auditor (OSA), and regulatory authorities as
requested.
Equipment Specifications – The equipment specifications group is responsible for the development of specifications for any capitalized items
such as laboratory equipment, surveying instruments, printing equipment, shop equipment, office systems, or road maintenance and construction
equipment that by costing levels are required by state law to be publicly advertised for bid.
